The Mira and Ribesalbes-Alcora basins (Eastern and Southern Iberian Ranges) have been filled with Neogene, nonmarine and unfolded deposits. The first one has been dated of middle Miocene with the Mira Micromammals. The other one, over the Ribesalbes flora of early Miocene age, yielded the Araya and Mas de Antolino localities with little older Mammals, (MN4). These data show that the alpine compession disapperared in this region before the middle Miocene times.
