Los Rhizobia: biofertilizantes para leguminosas y no leguminosas

Abstract

Durante siglos, la rotación de cultivos de leguminosas y no leguminosas fue empíricamente utilizada para conservar la fertilidad de los suelos y ya en la Antigua Roma, Plinio proponía rotar leguminosas juntos con cereales con este fin y el uso de las leguminosas como abono verde dejando temporadas de barbecho. Este tipo de prácticas se extendió por todo el Imperio Romano y Columela, oriundo de España. Describió en su tratado "de re rústica" la rotación de cultivos que se ha venido practicando ancestralmente en los suelos de muchas regiones españolas.

Los datos puesto en este artículo son resultado de diferentes proyectos de investigación financiados por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación AGL2008-03360 y AGL2007-63854 y por la Junta de Castilla y León GR94 y CSI02A09.
