Análisis de los ambientes absidales en la arquitectura doméstica de Augusta Emerita

Abstract

[ES]: En la primera parte del presente trabajo aludiremos al concepto de ábside, refiriéndonos a su aplicación en la temática de la arquitectura doméstica y exponiendo su origen y evolución en el tiempo. El segundo apartado se consagrará al estudio del registro arqueológico emeritense, reflexionando sobre la calidad y cantidad de los datos proporcionados por las excavaciones de Mérida. Para la elaboración de este análisis ha sido vital la información del catálogo de la tesis La arquitectura doméstica de Augusta Emerita, que estoy concluyendo en la actualidad y que cuenta con una base de datos de aproximadamente ciento ochenta construcciones de naturaleza doméstica. A partir de las casas objeto de estudio, realizaremos un examen de conjunto de la evolución diacrónica de los ambientes absidales. Este trabajo servirá de aproximación, a través de algunos ejemplos concretos, para apreciar las diferentes funcionalidades a que se destinaron las salas con ábsides. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, planteamos las consideraciones finales aludiendo a qué tipo de viviendas estaban dotadas de ábsides, cuál fue la etapa cronológica en que se desarrollaron y que funcionalidades admitían este tipo de ambientes.

[EN]: In the first part of this paper we will refer to the concept of apse, regarding to its application to the issue of roman housing, explaining its origin and evolution through the time. Carrying on the second section will be intend for the study of the archaeological remains of Augusta Emerita focusing on the quality and quantity of data provided by the excavations of Mérida. Drawing up this analysis has been vital the information on the catalog of the Ph. D. The Domestic Architecture of Augusta Emerita, that I am concluding in the present time and it has a database of about one hundred and eighty buildings of a domestic nature. From the houses under study, we will conduct an overall examination of the diachronic evolution of apsidal spaces. This work through some concrete examples serves to appreciate the different approach that went functionalities rooms with apses. From the results obtained in the previous section, we state the concluding remarks in terms of what kind of domestic buildings were equipped with apses, what was the chronological stage in which developed and admitted functionalities such this kind of rooms.
