From polymer chains to enzyme-mimetic soft nanoparticles

Abstract

El objetivo de esta Tesis ha sido explorar diferentes aspectos de la síntesis de nanopartículas poliméricas unimoleculares (NPUs).Las NPUs son partículas de tamaño nanométrico sintetizadas a partir del entrecruzamiento de una cadena polimérica individual en condiciones diluidas. Las dimensiones de las NPUs dependen principalmente del peso molecular del polímero precursor, la cantidad de entrecruzante empleado, la propia naturaleza del polímero y la calidad del disolvente en la que se da la reacción. En concreto, en esta Tesis se han analizado tres aspectos principales relacionados con las NPUs: 1. Leyes de escala para NPUs, en particular, leyes de escala relativas al peso molecular y polidispersidad aparentes, radio hidrodinámico y viscosidad intrínseca. 2. Preparación de NPUs catalíticas que imitan el comportamiento de las enzimas, en concreto, de enzimas reductasas y polimerasas. 3. Síntesis fotoactivada de NPUs a través de reacciones tiol-doble enlace y tiol-triple enlace, dando lugar, respectivamente, a NPUs abiertas y NPUs globulares.
