[EN] The present invention relates to a material including a thermotropic liquid crystal dispersed in drop form in an elastomeric matrix and methods for obtaining same. The invention also relates to a dielectric elastomer actuator including said material and to the uses thereof for manufacturing robotic, electronic, and industrial devices as well as biomedical components. The present invention further relates to a dielectric elastomer generator including said material and the uses thereof for manufacturing wave-motion or wave-energy generators. The invention could therefore be useful in the robotics, electronics, industrial, and biomedical industries.
