Espaços e actores da comunicação política nos impérios ibéricos (1700-1750)

Abstract

Nesta comunicação serão abordados os espaços e agentes que, no seio da arquitectura políticoadministrativa de cada um dos impérios ibéricos de Antigo Regime, se assumiam como principais interlocutores e intermediários de correspondência, assim como os principais ritmos e tendências evolutivas da mesma. Considerando a impossibilidade da análise de todos os municípios de ambas as Coroas, a opção foi por focar em quatro casos específicos, Évora, Córdoba, Ouro Preto e Quito, seguindo uma lógica que assegure a comparabilidade e, ao mesmo tempo, garanta a exequibilidade do trabalho. Defender-se-á a ideia de que as diferenças existentes na malha administrativa das duas Monarquias, nomeadamente o perfil dos indivíduos que acediam aos cargos providos para os territórios teria um impacto directo na lógica de funcionamento da comunicação, assim como na participação política de cada um destes intervenientes. Para o efeito serão apresentados alguns exercícios quantitativos que permitam caracterizar melhor os fluxos de comunicação e que darão uma panorâmica mais alargada do problema em estudo.

Tese desenvolvida no Programa Interuniversitário de Doutoramento em História (PIUDH) intitulada Comunicação e prática política nas monarquias ibéricas de Antigo Regime: Évora, Córdova, Ouro Preto e Quito (1700-1750), financiada com um bolsa de doutoramento da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (SFRH / BD / 77116 / 2011)
