Las investigaciones emprendidas acerca del conocido palacio del Castillejo de Monteagudo han mostrado una serie de interesantes novedades relativas a la distribución de los espacios interiores así como al acceso al edificio. La prospección del área de huerta circundante ha revelado un buen número de estructuras hidráulicas, albercones y acequias, y otras de dudosa identificación, que demuestran que el palacio era el centro de una vasta finca al menos parcialmente cultivada. Hemos incluido en el estudio tres monumentos adyacentes, el llamado Castillo de Larache, probablemente una almunia aristocrática; el Castillo de Monteagudo, un edificio castrense, y los restos de Cabezo de Torres cuya naturaleza es aún discutible, ante las notables evidencias de coetaneidad con respecto al palacio del Castillejo.

The research about the well known palace "Castillejo de Monteagudo" has shown several interesting newness concerning the distribution of the inner spaces as well as the access to the building. Moreover, the prospection of the "huerta" around it revealed the existence of hydraulic structures, irrigation ditches and reservoirs, and non-identificated others, which proove that the palace was the center of a large estate, at least partly cultivated. We have included in our research two neighbouring monuments: the "Castillo de Larache", an aristocratic residence, and the "Castillo de Monteagudo", a fortress, because of the cronological evidences of relationship with the palace. Furthermore, we include the vestiges of Cabezo de Torres, which nature is still uncertain.
