Análisis bioinformático aplicado a la atresia pulmonar con septo ventricular integro

Abstract

La atresia pulmonar con septo ventricular integro es una cardiopatía congénita caracterizada por una oclusión de la válvula pulmonar que causa una obstrucción completa del tracto de salida del ventrículo derecho hacia los pulmones. Algunos autores atribuyen causas genéticas al origen de la enfermedad, proponiéndose la mutación de los genes WFDC8 y WFDC9 con su patogenia (De Stefano, 2008). Basados en esta sospecha se analizaron bioinformáticamente sus productos génicos con el propósito de encontrar la relación entre su mutación y la enfermedad. Para ello se revisaron las anotaciones de las proteínas, se descargaron y analizaron sus ortólogos, se obtuvieron sus alineamientos y se analizaron sus filogenias, dominios, estructura y expresión génica. Los resultados iniciales han mostrado que las proteínas humanas WFDC8 y WFDC9, vinculadas en parte con el sistema inmunológico, están relacionadas con proteínas de la matriz extracelular, se encuentran expresadas en testículos, pero no se encuentran evidencias de su relación con el corazón. Sin embargo, existen resultados de su expresión cardiaca y embrionaria en algunos de sus ortólogos.
