Abstract

[EN] In the Ebro river basin and for the water courses with discharges over 15 m3/s, the total number of direct contacts between gypsiferous lithofacies and flowing waters is 50 extending 22 km. In these situations, the incorporation of gypsum to the channels takes place either by dissolution or as particulate material. According to the slope type and its evolution stage, different patterns concerning the occurrence and magnitude of the contributions can be observed. As a total, this incorporation has been estimated around 321.000 tons per year, representing 11% of the total gypsum transported by the Ebro river at Tortosa.
