Redes culturales y sociales: El teatro de salón de Luisa Fernández de Córdova, Duquesa de Híjar

Abstract

[EN] The theatrical performances which were extensively held in the salons during the second half of the 19th century are a symptom of the pivotal position that the theatrical spectacle occupied in Spanish society. In the two periods of the chamber theatre of Luisa Fernández de Córdova, Duchess of Híjar (1866-1868, 1875-1879), performances by contemporary authors were staged, but these periods stood out particularly for the unusual staging of plays of the 17th and 18th centuries in these private venues: Fuego de Dios en el querer bien (Calderón de la Barca), La niña boba (Lope de Vega), La comedia nueva (Moratín) or La casa de Tócame Roque (R. de la Cruz).
