Abstract

La etnografía de las islas Canarias, por la complejidad de influencias que en ella se aúnan, desde el sustrato guanche al colonizador peninsular (tanto de España como de Portugal), o la derivada de ser un puerto obligado para los navíos que se dirigían o regresaban de América (influencias americanas, inglesas, holandesas, etc.), se constituye como un rico e interesante campo para los estudios etnográficos. Además, por su carácter de archipiélago, con los fenómenos característicos de aislamiento entre unas y otras islas, encontramos que cada una de ellas ha reelaborado estas influencias con su impronta personal, contando con una personalidad propia y diferenciable.
