Abstract

[EN] This paper aims to show the structure and disposition that took in the low middle ages the Real Alcázar of Carmona, based on the archaeological study of the few remains that have come to us of this palace and fortress, supplemented and illustrated with documentary information of later period and the comparative study of other palatine constructions of Peter I. The Palace that housed in its interior belongs to the set of similar type buildings erected by this monarch with the clear purpose of sustaining their political program. Also discusses the decoration with portraits of the Kings of Castile, from the times of the Catholic Kings,in one of its main rooms and which can be considered a continuous expression of the same policy.
