We have explained the basis of the techniques used in the statistical treatement of quantal response with the maximum likelihood solution, and its application to a case of the toxicological effect of the glucose and sodium chloride on eggs of Dacus oleae Gmel. and Ceratitis capitata Wied. A program, named Probit MV, has been set up for the computer IBM 360/44. Because this method is very adequated to obtain enough information in this kind of studies, we have considered very interesting to expose it in spanish to the scientists interested in this field.
