Objetivos de la investigación sobre cereales en España: resultados de las encuestas realizadas al sector público, el sector privado y las asociaciones

Abstract

Los cereales aportan aproximadamente un 50% de las calorías a la alimentación humana en todo el mundo; algo menos en los países desarrollados. España es un país deficitario en cereales, con una balanza comercial crecientemente negativa de entre 9 y 10 millones de t por año durante este siglo, frente a unos 6 millones de t por año durante la última década del siglo pasado. Estos datos ponen de manifiesto la importancia de la producción de cereales para la seguridad alimentaria española. Por este motivo, el INIA incluyó este sector en una iniciativa de prospectiva encaminada a identificar objetivos prioritarios para la investigación agraria en España.
