[EN] Quantitalive sugar, starch, and hemicellulose determinations were made rrom -twig samples collected weekly from apricot, peach. pear, and apple trees, in arder to study the changes during the rest period and dormancy. Sugar and hemicellulose cantent in twigs decreased during both periods. Starch cantent showed a minimum which appears lO be related with the errd af dormancy. If the end a f the res t periad is made lo coincide with the error of dormancy, (he minimum of starch content will give an indication on the chilling requirement's for the different froit varieties.
