Ultraestructura del pupario de Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae)

Abstract

La morfología del puparío de Ceratitis capitata (Díptera: Tephrítídae) ha sido puesta de manifiesto a microscopía electrónica de barrido y transmisión. La pared del puparío está formada por tres capas de distinta morfología y densidad electrónica: capa externa A, capa intermedia B y capa interna C. La capa A presenta a su vez, una zona periférica marcadamente electrón-transparente, con numerosas cavidades más o menos esféricas, mientras que la zona interna es notablemente más electrón-densa. La capa B presenta una morfología intermedia entre las capas A y C. La capa interna C, la de menor densidad electrónica, muestra una estructuración pseudocristalina y ausencia total de cavidades. Se discute la morfología de las capas del puparío en función del grado de protección que confiere a la ninfa y en función de la capacidad de penetración de los agentes externos.
