The eye is a fascinating optical element that project images of the outside world onto the retina. Ocular imaging allow us investigating the structural and optical properties of the cornea and crystalline lens, and their changes with aging, disease and treatment. On the other hand, adaptive optics allows us manipulating non-invasively the optics of the eye, and test the effects of vision. QuantitativeImaging, modeling and psychophysical studies aid therefore to understand basic mechanisms of the visual process and propose new, predictive correction alternatives to improve vision in patients.
