[EN] After some brief considerations on the historical development of the method for the catalitic refining of benzol, the principles of the method as used nowdays, using coke ovens gas as hydrogen carrier, are described. The pro• perties and quality of the raw benzol and of the products obtained from the refining plant are also mentioned. An economical study of the process is made, including some observations on the advantages of the method as compared with sulphuric acid plants. Data on a typical plant for the traitement of 12.000 tons per year of raw benZol are also given.
