Nuevos complejos de Pt(II) con carbenos N-heterocíclicos ciclometalados: Síntesis y propiedades luminiscentes

Abstract

El éxito en la preparación de carbenos N-heterocíclicos (NHC) ciclometalados estables de metales de transición ha abierto las puertas a una nueva familia de compuestos con gran potencial. Los NHC son ligandos de campo fuerte, lo que dificulta que a temperatura ambiente se pueblen los estados excitados d-d no radiativos, dando lugar a compuestos luminescentes más eficientes con aplicaciones en tecnología LED. Se preparó el complejo dinuclear de Pt(II) [Pt(μ-Cl)2(C^C*)2] por ciclometalación del ligando no comercial 1-(4-cianofenil)-3-metilimidazol-2-ilideno. Las reacciones de ruptura del sistema de puentes cloro 1 con ligandos neutros (L) dieron lugar a los complejos [Pt(C^C*)ClL]. El análisis de sus espectros de RMN de H indican que el ligando L se sitúa en posición trans al carbeno, de modo que es el carbono aniónico del metalociclo quien presenta una mayor influencia trans. Así mismo se han preparado compuestos aniónicos y catiónicos (NBu4)[PtII(C^C*)2(CN)2] (5) y [PtII (C^C*)2(L’)2]A (L’=NCMe, A=ClO4-(6); L’=CNtBu, A=ClO4-(7a), PF6-(7b); L’=CNXylil, A=ClO4-(8a), PF6-(8b)) mediante la eliminación de los ligandos Cl en 1 y su sustitución por el ligando L’ correspondiente. El estudio por difracción de rayos X, RMN multinuclear, análisis elemental, IR y espectrometría de masas ha permitido conocer inequívocamente la estructura de estos compuestos, observando que efectivamente el carbeno está ciclometalado y que las dos vacantes coordinativas se ocupan por los ligandos indicados. Alguno de estos derivados resultó ser un buen emisor en la zona azul-verde, con una gran contribución del ligando NHC al estado excitado emisor.
