Abstract

Se realizó una descripción ampelográfica de cepas de «Catalán Roxo», «Catalán Blanco» y «Folla Redonda», cultivares muy extendidos en Galicia, considerados tradicionalmente como híbridos productores directos (aunque nunca han sido descritos) y que aparecen en la Lista de Variedades de Alleweldt (1988) como pertenecientes a Vitis vinifera L.

Se demostró en el presente trabajo que el «Catalán Roxo» no pertenece a Vitis vinifera L.,puesto que presenta caracteres ampelográficos tales como la presencia de zarcillos con distribución continua o subcontinua, gusto foxé, y la piel de las bayas se separa fácilmente de la pulpa al someterlas a una leve. presion

EI «Catalán Blanco» presenta los zarcillos con distribución discontinua como Vitis vinifera L. Sin embargo, presenta tambien gusto foxé, y la piel de sus bayas se separa fácilmente de la pulpa al ser sometidas a una leve presión.

En cuanto al «Folla Redonda», se trata de una cepa tintorera con unos caracteres ampelográficos que nos hacen sospechar que puede ser un Híbrido Productor Directo descendiente del Alicante Ganzin.

Se demostró asimismo que «Catalán Blanco» y «Catalán Roxo» se diferencian además de por el color de las bayas, por presentar otros caracteres ampelográficos distintos
