Abstract

Por el interés creciente de las enfermedades transmitidas por garrapatas (Parola y Raoult, 2001), durante el periodo 1996-2002 nuestro laboratorio estableció convenios sucesivos con la consejería de Sanidad de la Junta de Castilla y León a fin de determinar: 1. las especies de garrapatas que pican a las personas en la comunidad 2. los patógenos presentes en los ejemplares recogidos sobre personas 3. las posibilidades de la serología para averiguar si las personas han sido picadas por garrapatas. Para llevar a cabo las determinaciones señaladas, durante el período indicado fueron enviados a nuestro laboratorio todos los ejemplares de garrapatas recogidos sobre personas en los centros de salud y hospitales de la comunidad y también, durante los tres primeros años del estudio, muestras de suero de personas que habían sido picadas por garrapatas. El objetivo de nuestro trabajo es el de dar cuenta de las determinaciones realizadas.
