En esta comunicación se examinan los criterios generales que determinan la calidad del agua para el riego (criterios de salinidad, de sodicidad y de tcucicidad). Asimismo, se discuten los factores condicionantes de los criterios señalados (clima, propiedades del suelo y su interacción con el agua, tolerancia de los cultivos a la salinidad y prácticas de manejo del riego y suelo), apuntándose algunas conclusiones generales al trabajo presentado.
