Abstract

El presente trabajo caracteriza el cargo de director general de Bellas Artes durante la II República Española y el complejo trabajo de salvaguarda del patrimonio histórico-artístico y promoción del arte del momento que desarrolló al frente del mismo el pintor y cartelista valenciano Josep Renau, quien lo ocupó en el contexto de la guerra civil (de septiembre de 1936 a abril de 1938).
