Abstract

En este trabajo queremos explorar el potencial de un currículo inspirado en las habilidades cosmopolitas de Nussbaum y que se ha plasmado en dos asignaturas de libre elección ofertadas en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia desde 1995. Primeramente, se analiza la propuesta de las habilidades cosmopolitas de Nussbaum enmarcándola en la discusión sobre los distintos tipos de cosmopolitismo y la literatura sobre capacidades y educación superior. Posteriormente, se describe el origen, contexto y fundamento pedagógico del currículo. Seguidamente, presentamos los resultados de un estudio exploratorio, basado en el análisis crítico del discurso, llevado a cabo entre los años 2005 y 2007, y cuyo objetivo era encontrar evidencias de un cierto desarrollo de las habilidades cosmopolitas de Nussbaum al terminar dos asignaturas ofertadas en el ámbito de la Cooperación al Desarrollo. Concluimos con una discusión sobre cómo los resultados del estudio han influido en nuestra práctica docente y en el diseño pedagógico de las asignaturas.
