Lógicas multivalentes

Abstract

La idea central subyacente a la construcción de lógicas multivalentes es la de que hay un cierto campo fronterizo entre la verdad total y la completa falsedad. Desde ese ángulo, uno de los fundadores de la lógica multivalente, Charles S. Peirce, elaboró argumentos filosóficos convincentes a su favor, que se explotan aquí para elaborar lógicas infinivalentes algebraicas, que siguen la estela de trabajos de Lukasiewicz, Sobocinski, S.C. Kleene, N. Rescher, Urquhart, Zadeh, etc.

Esas lógicas, que tienen una fuerte motivación filosófica, no son meros juegos matemáticos. Frente a la idea de que hay sólo dos valores de verdad abonan razones de peso que llevaron a una parte de la tradición filosófica a la afirmación de grados de realidad y de verdad. El artículo prueba que las lógicas multivalentes no son ni matemática ni filosóficamente anodinas.
