[EN]LASSEN (1979) has proposed Dorycnium fulgurans (Porta) Lassen (= Anthyllis fulgurans Porta, 1887) endemical of the Eastern Balearic islands. Based on ours morphologic studies of this taxon, of D. pentaphyllum Scop. ssp. pentaphyllum and on the presence of intermedial forms between these taxa, we think that the Balearic endemical should be considered as a subspecie of D.pentaphyllum: D. pentaphyllum ssp. fulgurans (Porta) comb. Nova. All these taxa, are, now, in culture under the same conditions.
