[EN] A grazed fuelbreak is a silvopastoral system in which fire preventive silviculture is combined with grazing. It provides many positive outputs for the forest and the rural communities. We explain the design and first steps of our research, which intends to evaluate the possibilities of establishing grazed fuelbreaks in Andalucía. We have designed the experimental grazed fuelbreak (45 ha), estimated the pasture production (between 1168 and 2192 kg of dry matter per hectare per year) and started experimenting with sowing different fodder species to improve pasture´s quality.
