Abstract

Uno de los principios RDA es representar relaciones bibliográficas. Los datos que describen un recurso deben indicar las relaciones entre el recurso descrito y otros recursos. Los datos que describen una entidad asociada a un recurso deben reflejar las relaciones bibliográficas significativas entre la entidad y otras entidades. Registrar relaciones en registros bibliográficos permite una navegación sistemática por el catálogo. RDA (Recursos Descripción y Acceso) se fundamenta en un modelo conceptual para definir el universo bibliográfico. Esta basado en las FRBR (Requerimientos Funcionales para Registros Bibliográficos) de la IFLA. Modelo entidad-relación que define las entidades que configuran el universo bibliográfico, las características que las definen y las relaciones entre ellas. Las relaciones entre entidades aparecen clasificadas lo que facilita su identificación y representación en los registros bibliográficos. Esto permite crear una red de relaciones posibles entre las entidades que representan los distintos recursos que se describen en el catálogo de la biblioteca.
