Abstract

En este trabajo se hará un estudio relacionado con el pandeo de columnas. El pandeo es un fenómeno muy importante en los elementos estructurales sometidos a compresión sobre todo cuando aumenta su esbeltez. Uno de los parámetros más importantes en el estudio del pandeo, es sin duda la carga crítica, porque a partir de un cierto valor de la carga la estructura entra en una situación de inestabilidad. Por este motivo es esencial saber el valor de carga crítica, el cual puede variar según diferentes condiciones de contorno, disposición de carga y geometría de la estructura. Pero el valor de la carga crítica depende de la longitud del pandeo que es otro de los parámetros determinantes en el fenómeno del pandeo. La longitud del pandeo es la longitud de la columna multiplicado por un coeficiente de esbeltez β. En este trabajo se implementará un procedimiento para determinar el valor de coeficiente de esbeltez (β) para diferentes casos y posteriormente se hará un estudio comparativo entre los resultados obtenidos y los disponibles en la bibliografía y normativas
