In this paper is intended to study how self-awareness influences sexual and emotional intimacy within the framework of a couple relationship. The data of 78 people have been collected through the instruments The Self-Awareness Outcomes Questionnaire (SAOQ) to measure the degree of individual self-awareness, the Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR) for the dimension of sexual intimacy and the Intimacy Scale of the Emotional Dimension (ISOTED) to quantify the emotional intimacy of the subjects. Through the individual scores, the correlation between the different instruments has been studied using Kendall's Tau_b test. Based on the results, a correlation is observed between the dimensions of sexual and emotional intimacy, but not with self-awareness. For this reason, it is concluded that there is no correlation between the self-awareness scores and those of sexual and emotional intimacy, so the initial hypothesis of the study is rejected

En aquest treball es pretén estudiar com l’autoconsciència influeix en la intimitat sexual i emocional en el marc d’una relació de parella. S’han recollit les dades de 78 persones a través dels instruments The Self-Awareness Outcomes Questionnarie (SAOQ) per mesurar el grau d’autoconsciència individual, el Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR) per la dimensió d’intimitat sexual i el Intimacy Scale of the Emotional Dimension (ISOTED) per quantificar la intimitat emocional dels subjectes. A través de les puntuacions individuals s’ha estudiat la correlació entre els diferents instruments mitjançant la prova Tau_b de Kendall. A partir dels resultats s’observa una correlació entre les dimensions d’intimitat sexual i emocional però no amb l’autoconsciència. Per aquest motiu, es conclou que no hi ha correlació entre les puntuacions d’autoconsciència i les d’intimitat sexual i emocional, així doncs es rebutja la hipòtesi inicial de l’estudi.
