Abstract

This article analyses the periodical Quaderns de cultura catalana, created in 1959 by the Young intel·lectuals of the PSUC, i.e. the Catalan Communist Party, in an attempt to influence cultural debate in Catalonia. It thus provides us with important information regarding the goals pursued by the Communists in the battle of idees, and thei views on how Catalan culture should evolve and on the role the intellectual shuold play in this
