B2B Managment

Authors: Alabau Blanquera, Adrià;
Abstract

Thanks to the constant advancement of technology and the globalization of trade, many companies are opting to open business in other countries and form alliances between companies from different parts of the world. This presents a logistical difficulty when negotiating the possible contracts or businesses that are formed. At this point Business-to-Business or B2B meetings appeared. Business-to-Business meetings are a form of exchange between two or more participating companies, of which a member of each of the companies usually intervenes with the aim of exhibiting, negotiating or close the details of a contract or sale. Thanks to the short duration of these meetings and the fact that take place at important events, such as congresses or conferences, allow the same company carry out a multitude of meetings with a reduced logistical cost. The high concentration of companies in a small space, their time differences and their staff availability can be a difficult challenge to manage. This project consists of developing a graphic tool that facilitates the task of creating schedules for a B2B event organizer. Scheduling a B2B event is an NP-hard combinatorial problem. For this one reason, we will use one of the currently most efficient techniques to solve this type of problem, which is the model-and-solve approach. This approach consists, first of all, in coding the problem as a set of variables and restrictions on these variables, so that once an assignment is found for the variables that satisfy the constraints, this represents a solution of problem Once the constraint model is defined, a specialized constraint solver is used. In particular, in this project we will use encodings towards the Boolean satisfiability problem (SAT). This approach is not only efficient, but will allow us to delegate the task of finding solutions to a specialized solver, and we can focus on developing an interactive graphical tool and intuitive
