Les tecnologies de fabricació additiva estan experimentant un procés de democratització accelerat que es tradueix en un augment d’usuaris que hi tenen accés i de sectors on la trobem present. Tot va començar amb la possibilitat de crear prototipus de manera ràpida i econòmica, però actualment ja es poden fabricar peces finals fiables, de qualitat i amb un alt valor afegit. No obstant, la tecnologia selective laser sintering (SLS) no ha experimentat aquest fenomen i segueixen sent molt cares i els venedors tenen el monopoli de manteniment, material i recanvis. El projecte contribueix a la democratització d’aquesta tecnologia amb el disseny i construcció d’una màquina, la grepSLS, fàcil de muntar, open source, de baix cost i polivalent que permeti la fabricació de peces metàl·liques, polimèriques o a partir de biomaterials. Així doncs, segueix l’essència d’una impressora FDM amb un ventall més ampli de materials
Additive manufacturing technologies are undergoing a process of democratization which translates into an increase in users who have access to it and sectors where we find it present. It all started with the ability to create prototypes quickly and economically, but today, reliable, high-quality, high-value-added final parts can now be manufactured. However, selective laser sintering (SLS) technology has not experienced this phenomenon and are still very expensive and sellers have a monopoly on maintenance, material and spare parts. The project contributes to the democratization of this technology with design and construction of a machine, the grepSLS, easy to assemble, open source, low cost and versatile that allows the manufacture of metal parts, polymeric or from biomaterials. Like this therefore, it follows the essence of an FDM printer with a wider range of materials
