Disseny i desenvolupament d’un videojoc basat en boss fights

Abstract

Today, the remarkable expansion in the video game market and the amount of relevant titles being generated has resulted in common patterns in game design. Based on attractive and safe but not innovative designs and mechanics, it is impossible not to attribute this growth of the industry, in important part, to the relaunch of successful titles from the past, either with visual improvements or in the form of a continuation of a previous release, attributing this "new title" to what it really is, an expansion of content. On the other hand, after studying the market, it appears that there is a virtually unexplored genre of game with no truly relevant titles on the market: games based exclusively on bag-to-bag combat. These are games in which both the mechanics, narrative and gameplay go hand in hand with a unique set of bags to meet and defeat. The main drawback of this genre is the risk of venturing into uncharted territory and the difficulty of designing a game based on a considerable amount of action that must manage not to become repetitive, tiring or tense, but at the same time generate an expectation and an innovative and rewarding experience for the player. For this reason, we believe that getting involved in the creation of a game of this type not only gives us the experience of creating a video game from scratch, but also provides us with a challenge to test all our skills and learn along the way. The purpose of the project is to create an entire video game, complete from start to finish, of a remarkable quality. In addition, we seek to give shape to a genre that has been little explored, in order to learn to work on an empty canvas where we can give our all and through which we can develop the disciplines that we are passionate about.
