[EN] This project deals about ethanol as an alternative fuel. The first part is the ethanol such as chemical and physical properties, continuously the industry and its uses are going to be studied in it of there the importance nowadays of the ethanol. The second part deals with ethanol in Brazil and the development of the use of ethanol in this country. Ethanol has a great importance and because of it he is nowadays the major producer and consumer of the world. On the other hand the case is studied especially of the use of the ethanol in the aviation, concretly in Brazil, there will be discussed the problems and the advantages that there carries the use of this type of fuel in the aviation. Finishing, with the study of a plane especially, the Ipanema. Finally, an analysis of the prospects to the coming years of the use ethanol such as fuel and the advantages on the environment that this compound produces.
