Influencia de la heterogeneidad espacial de la conductividad hidráulica en modelos de agua subterránea

Abstract

La gestión de los recursos hídricos ha tomado gran importancia desde hace varios años, de entre ellos se está poniendo especial atención al agua subterránea, debido a la cantidad de recurso disponible y a la sensibilidad de esta a procesos naturales y/o antropogénicos. Una práctica que se ha vuelto común entre los profesionales durante la evaluación de recursos hidrogeológicos es la asunción de modelos determinísticos únicos para la caracterización de la heterogeneidad de los parámetros que influyen directa e indirectamente en la modelación de formaciones hidrogeológicas, dejando en aplicaciones teóricas el uso de modelos estocásticos. El objetivo del presente trabajo es demostrar la diferencia al aplicar enfoques determinísticos y estocásticos al modelar el flujo y/o transporte. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que, la simulación estocástica brinda un abanico de posibles soluciones con cierto grado de incertidumbre, cuya media difiere respecto al modelo determinista único (campo estimado mediante la técnica de krigeado). Finalmente, se concluye que, el empleo de simulación estocástica proporciona a la predicción realizada un grado de incertidumbre asociada a cualquier parámetro que se desea evaluar (conductividad hidráulica para el presente caso), hecho que no se puede lograr con los modelos deterministas de campo suave.
