Generación de biogás a partir de la codigestión de biorresiduos

Abstract

La valorización de biorresiduos mediante biometanización ofrece la posibilidad de conseguir un gas combustible a partir de residuos tales como desechos urbanos biodegradables, lodos de depuradoras, residuos agropecuarios, etc. Por otro lado, diversas investigaciones están demostrando que la mezcla de distintos biorresiduos en un reactor de biometanización (co-digestión), genera más volumen de biogás y con mayor riqueza en metano que un residuo en solitario. En este trabajo sobre co-digestión se han tomado residuos abundantes en la zona de Castellón, tales como residuos de frutas y hortalizas (centrales hortofrutícolas), residuos cárnicos (mataderos y salas de despiece), residuo orgánico bruto, restos de jardinería, rechazos, compost (plantas de compostaje) y lodos de depuradora. Mezclas con concentraciones conocidas de estos residuos se han introducido en diferentes reactores en condiciones anaerobias controladas. La producción de biogás y de metano ha sido desigual. Mientras que en la mezcla de residuo orgánico bruto, lodo digerido y compost se ha producido un volumen interesante de biogás con un importante contenido en metano, en el reactor con residuo de naranja y rechazo la producción ha sido realmente baja. Finalmente, se han analizado los fangos resultantes para estudiar su posible valorización como combustible o como fertilizante.
