Seguridad ciudadana, políticas de seguridad y estrategias policiales

Abstract

The subjective perception of insecurity has become a real problem which needs to be solved urgently. Due to the seriousness of his consequences we are inevitable forced to seek effective mechanisms to reduce the feeling of insecurity that characterizes our today’s society. The treatment that the media give to the delinquency does not help us to gain such an aim. The same can be said about a criminal policy whose only purpose is to please the social demand of a greater criminal involvement. However, what is really called to play a greater rolle is policing and, more specifically, the implementation of certain strategies, which have proved their ability to reduce this aforementioned situation.
