El tratamiento de los pacientes en el ámbito sanitario se ha ido desarrollando a lo largo de los años, de tal forma que en muchas de las enfermedades crónicas han surgido múltiples opciones farmacológicas y ha cobrado importancia la toma de decisiones sobre las mismas. Paralelamente, la idea de la toma de decisiones compartidas junto con las herramientas para hacerlo posible se ha vuelto relevantes al mejorar la implicación del paciente sobre su tratamiento y realizar una elección conjunta y congruente. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo desarrollar una herramienta para la toma de decisiones respecto al tratamiento de la diabetes mellitus una vez la metformina no alcanza el objetivo terapéutico. Mediante una revisión de los principales grupos farmacológicos y siguiendo los criterios establecidos para la elaboración de las herramientas de decisiones compartidas; se ha logrado crear una guía práctica adaptada a profesionales y pacientes para poder conseguir un consenso sobre la decisión farmacológica del tratamiento.
The treatment of patients in the health field has developed over the years, in such a way that in many chronic diseases; multiple pharmacological options have emerged and decision-making about them has become important. At the same time, the idea of shared decision-making together with the tools to make it possible have become relevant by improving patient involvement in their treatment and making a joint and consistent choice. The objective of this work is developing a tool for decision-making regarding the treatment of diabetes mellitus once metformin does not reach the therapeutic objective. Through a review of the main pharmacological groups and following the criteria established for the development of shared decision-making tools; It has been possible to create a practical guide adapted to professionals and patients in order to reach a consensus on the pharmacological decision of the treatment.
