La temática a la que se aproxima esta investigación es la lactancia materna y pretende reflexionar en torno al acto fisiológico de amamantar y si este podría considerarse una acción ecofeminista, que desafía al capitalismo heteropatriarcal en el que nos encontramos inmersas. El objetivo principal del presente estudio es demostrar que la lactancia materna tiene un potente nexo de unión con el ecofeminismo ya que dar el pecho supone una acción ecológica y sostenible en el tiempo, que interpela a las dinámicas de producción infinita, consumismo desmedido y destrucción del medio ambiente propias de un sistema neoliberal y capitalista. De la misma forma, amamantar conlleva una apropiación del propio cuerpo y una ocupación del espacio público mediante la visibilización de una parte de la vida sexual y reproductiva de las mujeres, que normalmente queda bajo control del sistema heteropatriarcal. El proyecto se lleva a cabo gracias a una investigación exploratoria en la que se examinarán cuestiones relacionadas con la lactancia materna, la maternidad, los movimientos ecofeministas y el sistema capitalista y heteropatriarcal, realizando la búsqueda de material bibliográfico actualizado, contrastado, relevante, de calidad y basado en la evidencia científica, en artículos científicos, tesis, investigaciones, libros, etc. Las conclusiones obtenidas son, en primer lugar, que la lactancia materna es la mejor forma de alimentación para madres y criaturas al aportar múltiples beneficios a nivel físico, psicológico y emocional. En segundo lugar, la lactancia materna y el movimiento ecofeminista poseen un potente nexo de unión en tanto que comparten la lucha por librarse de las opresiones hacia las mujeres y hacia la naturaleza ejercidas por el patriarcado, pudiéndose considerar algunas de las prácticas que conlleva la lactancia materna como una acción ecofeminista. Por último, el acto de amamantar supone un desafío al sistema capitalista y heteropatriarcal en tanto que interpela y cuestiona el orden establecido y las lógicas imperantes en esta estructura.

This research study is focused on breastfeeding and it pretends to reflect on the physiological act of breastfeeding to determine if it could be considered as an ecofeminist action that challenges the heteropatriarchal capitalism in which we find ourselves immersed. The main objective of this research is to demonstrate that breastfeeding has a powerful link with ecofeminism because breastfeeding is an ecological and sustainable action that challenges the unsustainable patterns of production and consumption, which are characteristic of a neoliberal and capitalist system. Likewise, breastfeeding involves an appropriation of one’s own body and an occupation of the public space through the visibility of a part of the sexual and reproductive women’s life, which is usually under the heteropatriarchal system control. A systematic review of scientific literature related to breastfeeding, motherhood, ecofeminist movements, and the capitalist / heteropatriarchal system has been carried out. It has been done by consulting updated, contrasted, relevant, and quality evidence-based bibliographic material (scientific articles, theses, papers, books, etc.). The conclusions obtained are, first, that breastfeeding is the best form of nutrition for mothers and children because it provides multiple benefits on a physical, psychological, and emotional level. Secondly, breastfeeding and the ecofeminist movement are hard linked because they share the fight to get rid of the oppressions towards women and nature exerted by the patriarchy. Thus, some of the practices linked to breastfeeding can be considered as ecofeminist actions. Lastly, the act of breastfeeding represents a challenge to the capitalist and heteropatriarchal system because it questions the established order and the prevailing logics in this structure.
