Abstract

La presente investigación se centra en el estudio de la crisis de los cuidados, proceso que surge de la nueva configuración social del Estado Español y que supone un reto para las familias en la sostenibilidad de la vida de las personas más dependientes y en la búsqueda de nuevas estrategias de provisión de cuidado. Para ello, se opta por un marco teórico basado en los fenómenos sociales y demográficos analizando las políticas reparadoras que nuestro Estado de Bienestar ha adoptado como respuesta a los mismos. Se aborda, inicialmente, el concepto de cuidados estableciendo una clara diferencia entre trabajo de cuidados y trabajo doméstico. Posteriormente, la investigación se adentra en el marco jurídico que los regula; la Ley de Dependencia y en concreto, el Servicio de Ayuda a Domicilio. La investigación realizada se enmarca geográficamente en el municipio de Almassora en la provincia de Castellón, y el objetivo de la misma es analizar si el funcionamiento y alcance del Servicio de ayuda a domicilio es suficiente para abastecer las necesidades de los usuarios o si, por el contrario, no es la vía idónea para hacer frente a la referida crisis de cuidados que estamos abordando. La metodología escogida es meramente cualitativa optando por la observación participante y las entrevistas abiertas semidirigidas.

This research focuses on the study of the crisis of care, a process that arises from the new social configuration of the Spanish State and that poses a challenge for families in the sustainability of the lives of the most dependent people and in the search for New strategies for the provision of care. To do this, a theoretical framework based on social and demographic phenomena is chosen, analyzing the reparative policies that our Welfare State has adopted in response to them. Initially, the concept of care is addressed by establishing a clear difference between care work and domestic work. Subsequently, the investigation enters into the legal framework that regulates them; the Dependency Law and specifically, the Home Help Service. The research carried out is geographically framed in the municipality of Almassora in the province of Castellón, and its objective is to analyze whether the operation and scope of the Home Help Service is sufficient to meet the needs of the users or if, by On the contrary, it is not the ideal way to deal with the referred care crisis we are addressing. The chosen methodology is merely qualitative, opting for participant observation and semi-directed open interviews.
