Abstract

Treball Final de Grau en Medicina. Codi: MD1158. Curs acadèmic: 2017/2018 Introduction The purpose of this study was to assess satisfaction in patients undergone Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) at the H ospital Provincial de Castellón. The main objective was to relate clinical examination, pain assessment, patient reported outcomes measures (PROMS) and radiological findings to patient's satisfac tion . Material and methods. This observational and cross - sectional study included 20 patients. All of they were operated with TKA due to primary knee osteoarthritis. Clinical outcomes were evaluated . P ain mesured using the visual - analog scale (VAS). PROMS were obtained through Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome score (KOOS). R adiological findings were evaluated in two projections. S atisfaction was obtained from two direct questions. SPSS 22.0 software was employed to data analysis . Results . Two of our patients (10%) were unsatis fied with the surgery. Both had lower flexion degrees and poor resu lts measured in KOOS. The statistic analysis didn’t show that satisfaction was related to the rest of studied variables . Conclusion. Our study could emphasize t he association among flexion, muscular strength and PROMS to patient’s satisfaction. Clinical outcomes, sex, age, pain and radiological findings seem not to be related to satisfaction.
