As of the consideration of the processes of agricultural work and the social systems of production, which are representative of the Catalonian agricultural sector in the mid-18üü's, the article analyses the means of the transformation 01' Catalonian agriculture under the new conditions imposed by the expansion of capitalism which ended up consolidating some agricultural system which were much simpler and of higher productivity in which the peasant household has occupied an increasingly central position.
