Abstract

Within the wide range of baroque celebrations of modern times, one of the least studied is that one aff ecting the prayers for the recovery of the health of a sick monarch, or celebrations once it was confi rmed. In 1687, the city of Rome, true theater of the Catholic world, lived magnanimous celebrations for the recovery of the health of the French King Louis XIV, which would involve the main characters of the French legation in the papal Capital –Cardinal d’Estrées and Elpidio Benedetti– and the spaces linked to the French celebration: St. Louis of the French, the Villa Benedetta, the Mancini Palace and the environment of the Church of the Trinita dei Monti, which would experience a true solar zenith, celebrating the monarch in the city where all the European courts were present.
