Actitudes sobre la edición de imágenes en redes sociales y su etiquetado: un posible preventivo

Abstract

Desde hace algunos años la comunidad científica ha alertado sobre un incremento en los problemas de salud asociados con el uso de redes sociales. En el caso concreto de plataformas audiovisuales (e.g. TikTok, Instagram) la investigación es contundentes al evidenciar la relación entre consumo y satisfacción corporal. Entre los diferentes recursos empleados para mitigar la influencia de redes sociales, el etiquetado de imágenes (AI labelling), mediante la detección de su composición, resulta un abordaje novedoso para potenciar las competencias mediáticas audiovisuales. Este estudio analiza las actitudes de jóvenes usuarios y usuarias respecto a las imágenes editadas en redes sociales y la eficacia de etiquetas como herramientas para formar una actitud crítica de las representaciones corporales en redes sociales. Los resultados muestran afinidad por las imágenes con edición moderada (sin modificación de rasgos faciales y corporales), prevalente en el caso de los varones. Asimismo, el estudio demuestra que el etiquetado de imágenes puede disminuir la afinidad por imágenes editadas, en el caso de las chicas. El etiquetado de imágenes se presenta como una posible solución para potenciar los alfabetismos mediáticos y corporales.
