Abstract

A literatura e o jornalismo interseccionam-se de muitas maneiras distintas. Na sua produção e circulação, partilham aspetos que se prendem com um conjunto de tecnologias que têm em comum, e que vão da própria linguagem verbal aos recursos materiais da comunicação manuscrita, impressa e digital. Ao longo dos séculos, muitos autores literários têm sido jornalistas profissionais e aprendido com este ofício - e vice-versa. As publicações periódicas oferecem informação regular sobre a atividade literária, mesmo quando esta não constitui o seu objeto principal, e há diversas que se especializam no acompanhamento da escrita literária recente ou mais antiga por meio de recensões críticas, entrevistas, etc. Ao mesmo tempo, o jornalismo literário, entendido como um género específico de narrativa não-ficcional longa, ou jornalismo escrito com laivos de literatura, ganhou lugar de destaque e constituiu um cânone de autores reconhecidos, ganhando mesmo um Nobel.
