In this paper we present a design for an electronic stethoscope to help in detecting abnormalities in infant cardiovascular systems. The proposed design consists of software components and hardware components. The software component time scales and filters the signal. The hardware component includes dual microphones for noise cancellation, noise reducing headphones, and batteries to power the device. The design was tested using a MATLab simulation and it proved to successfully filter out noise and slow the signal sufficiently to make abnormalities in the heartbeat audible.
