Racismo, inmigración e interculturalidad

Abstract

En este artículo se pretende analizar las condiciones que hacen posible la persistencia en el discurso social de las categorías que, a pesar de haber sido invalidadas científicamente, siguen formando parte de nuestro universo discursivo, y cómo ello hace más complejo, si cabe, desmontar lo que de segregacionista y excluyente hay en ellas. Al mismo tiempo se pone de manifiesto el proceso de ocultación de lo que, en esas categorías, puede contravenir los principios democráticos y cómo son incorporados los rasgos semánticos descalificantes a categorías más ‘sociológicas’ como las de ‘emigrantes’. La contradicción que en el campo de las libertades y la igualdad de derechos representa esta estrategia es analizada, en lo que respecta al ámbito de la Unión Europea, así como las potencialidades de generar nuevas sociedades abiertas y plurales de acuerdo con las líneas maestras del programa intercultural.
