Abstract

Abstract This paper analyses the state of the art related with the Information Behaviour of journalists in their pro- fessional tasks, as the way journalists search and corroborate the information they produce and manage in a strictly documentary way. The literature review shows the lack of a solid scientific production about the issue, for as we have only found dispersed stud- ies, circumscribed to limited geographical and cultural fields. The above-mentioned lack is virtually total in our country, therefore we make a statistical study fo- cused on a series of relevant signs to analyse, by means of a survey, the information behaviour of thirty three journalists of the two major newspapers in the Region of Murcia ("La Verdad” and “La Opinión”), both with paper and digital edition, and two digital newspapers (“El Pajarito” y “Diario Sí”), in order to analyse the information behaviour in our setting and offer a specific information behaviour future model in this environment as well as some solutions to the problems detected in the analysis of such behaviour.
