Abstract

Resumen En este artículo se aborda el estado de la cuestión sobre las estrategias comunicativas de Televisión Social, y el grado de desarrollo e implicaciones que tienen las mismas dentro de la televisión nacional. El nuevo fenómeno de las redes sociales suma miles de usuarios cada día, aumentando la interactividad entre los mismos y transformando los modelos de negocio de los medios de comunicación tradicionales. En este entorno, la convergencia entre medios tradicionales y los nuevos medios sociales se hace muy necesaria. Para ello, en este artículo se realizará una descrip- ción, se analizarán las características, los posibles formatos y el grado de implantación de la Social TV en España, con especial relevancia a su integración con estrategias publicitarias. La metodología a utilizar será analizar cómo están abordando sus estrategias comunicativas basadas en la Web 2.0 las seis cade- nas de televisión más importantes en España, me- diante un estudio de casos de carácter exploratorio. Se trata de comprobar el tipo de uso promocional que los canales de televisión llevan a cabo con los nuevos instrumentos de comunicación que ofrece la Web 2.0, mediante el estudio de diferentes variables como: la presencia en determinadas redes sociales, el grado de participación en las mismas por parte de televiden- tes y las cadenas, el tipo de contenidos utilizados y el nivel de promoción hacia estas redes en las emisio- nes por televisión. Los resultados nos mostrarán cuales de las cadenas estudiadas han apostado más por las redes sociales y cómo la Social TV necesita más tiempo de desarrollo para imponerse como una estrategia de promoción preferente.

Abstract This article addresses the topic about communication strategies of Social TV and the degree of development and implications they have within the Spanish television. Social media phenomenon incorporates thousands of new users every day, increasing interactivity and changing traditional media business models. In this environment is needed a convergence between traditional media and new social media. For this purpose, this article will provide a description of Social TV and will analyze the characteristics, potential formats and degree of implementation in Spain, with special relevance to its integration with advertising strategies. With this goal in mind, this article will address how the six major television networks in Spain are approaching their communication strategies build on Web 2.0, through a case study of an exploratory nature. It will be used to check how the television channels are using the new communication tools offered by Web 2.0 media as a way of promotion. This methodology will study many variables as Social Networking presence, viewers and broadcasters degree of participation, Social TV contents and level of TV broadcasting advertising. Conclusions will show us how many of our analyzed TV networks are employing Social TV. Also, Social TV needs more development time to establish itself as a preferential promotion strategy.
